The inspiration for this song came from the devotion a friend of mine had just brought in our nursing home Bible study the night before. His text was Matthew 14:23-33.

What is it in the morning calls for stillness? The tall trees stand composed and at attention. The songs of birds are hushed, with one exception, And silent chimes announce the absence of the wind.
