from Day 7
“Waiting on God: A Plea in Prayer”
And if at our first attempt to truly live the life of fully and always waiting on God we begin to discover how much that perfect integrity is wanting, this will be one of the blessings which the waiting was intended to produce. A soul cannot seek close fellowship with God or attain the abiding consciousness of waiting on Him all day long without a completely honest and entire surrender to all His will…. It must be clear to us what we are waiting for…. It must also be clear to us on whom we are waiting…. And then, let it be very clear too that we are waiting.
Murray, Andrew. Waiting on God (CLC Publications: Fort Washington, PA, 1999), 40-41.
I have deliberately limited myself to only twelve quotes from this book, as with every book which I feature here, but there is so much more that I wanted to share with you. Of course, I’ve shared these twelve clips to whet your appetite to want to read this devotional book for yourself, so by all means get this book and make it a part of your quiet time. Andrew Murray is one of my favorite authors, and his writings never cease to encourage, uplift, and convict my heart.
