Today’s Five-Minute-Friday topic: RELEASE

One of these days I’ll learn.

For a while I live in the reality of God’s omniscient wisdom, trusting Him to meet my needs and care for the concerns of my heart. But inevitably I close my fist around certain people, duties, and possessions, holding tightly lest I should lose them, lest any hint of chaos should enter the carefully planned moments of my day.

But when I take control, that’s exactly what happens. Every time. Without fail.

Chaos reigns.

I feel the reins slipping out of my hands. In fear and desperation I cry out to the Lord to resume the control that was rightfully His all along.

One of these days I’ll learn to willingly release the reins into the capable hands of my Father, relax, and just enjoy the ride.

Psalm 37:7  Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him.
