Hurry Up, God ~ Psalm 70

box turtle meandering through the grass

Make haste, O God, to deliver me;
make haste to help me, O LORD.
Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul:
let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.
Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, “Aha, aha.”
Let all those that seek You rejoice and be glad in You:
and let such as love Your salvation say continually,
“Let God be magnified.”
But I am poor and needy:
make haste unto me, O God:
You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD,
make no tarrying.

Four times in this short psalm David asks God to hurry up. But God is not on our schedule. He does not operate on a calendar and is not bound by time. He is never late, nor is He ever early, but He is always right on time. He is working in ways we cannot see to accomplish things we cannot imagine. The wise man will stop asking God to hurry and instead will himself slow down, take a breath, and wait on the Lord.

Here is a song that will help to encourage you in the fact that God is always right on time.
