Day 3 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge: Watercolor on Canson 140-lb cold press, 9×6
Today I wanted to try the tree again. After all, the only way to get better is to keep practicing. I started by watching a couple more video demonstrations, including one that was simply a demonstration of various techniques. I practiced these techniques along with the instructor, then used one of them to create the background of this painting. She had quickly added a few birds to her paper, and I liked them, so I did the same.
Then I tried the tree again. This time I was actually pretty happy with how it turned out…. And then I turned the painting over to put tape on the back for mounting and photographing, and I must have set it down on a drop of water, because the top of my tree was wet and smudged when I flipped the paper back around. I fixed it as well as I knew how. Oh, well. It’s just practice. 🙂

I’m already spread pretty thin, but I would like to know how that works. You’re seriously interested in my beginning watercolor experiment? 🙂
