Let there be light!
One of my favorite features of our new home is all the natural light that comes in through the windows. The photo on the left is the view from my chair in the corner of the bedroom, looking into the cheerfully sunlit bathroom. The photo on the right is a closer view of the window which fills the room with all that glorious light.
There is another light in my life, even more splendid than the light of the sun. The source of that light is the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 8:12 Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, “I am the light of the world: he who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
If you think of the Jesus’ light as a flame, then all who receive His light are like torches. He lights our torches, and we then carry His light wherever we go so that others can see and receive the light as well.
Matthew 5:14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.
Isn’t that wonderful? That is what I seek to do here: shine the light of Jesus for all to see. Just imagine what a difference we could make if everyone who has the light of Christ within him or her were not afraid to let it shine brightly for all to see!
