day
hectic, hot
working, schooling, running
sun, eagle, owl, moon
slowing, playing, relaxing
cool, peaceful
night

For now, *me time* looks like one evening a week, hiding myself in a coffee shop, listening to an audiobook along the way 😉

That sounds wonderful! Our seasons of life do influence our “me time,” to be sure. When my children were young, I snagged some down time after they were in bed for the night. I would curl up on the sofa with a cup of herbal tea and a good book–or with paper and pencil to write a new poem. The annual retreats started 4 years ago, when I would drop my children off at summer camp and stay in a cabin nearby until it was time to take them home again. It has proven to be so refreshing that I believe I’ll keep doing it even when my kids no longer go to camp. 🙂
