from Day 5
“Waiting on God: For Instruction”
The Father in heaven is so interested in His child, and so longs to have his life at every step in His will and His love, that He is willing to keep the child’s guidance entirely in His own hand. He so well knows that we are unable to do what is really holy and heavenly—except as He works it in us—that He intends His very demands to become promises of what He will do in watching over and leading us all day long.
Murray, Andrew. Waiting on God (CLC Publications: Fort Washington, PA, 1999), 32.
I have deliberately limited myself to only twelve quotes from this book, as with every book which I feature here, but there is so much more that I wanted to share with you. Of course, I’ve shared these twelve clips to whet your appetite to want to read this devotional book for yourself, so by all means get this book and make it a part of your quiet time. Andrew Murray is one of my favorite authors, and his writings never cease to encourage, uplift, and convict my heart.
