Praise ye the LORD.
Praise God in His sanctuary.
Praise Him in the firmament of His power.
Praise Him for His mighty acts:
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet:
Praise Him with the psaltery and harp.
Praise Him with the timbrel and dance.
Praise Him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise Him upon the loud cymbals;
Praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD.
Praise ye the LORD.
This is one of favorite psalms, and it’s no wonder because it is impossible to read this psalm and not come away feeling more joyful than it found you. I can’t think of a better way to leave the season of thanksgiving and enter the season of Christmas. Yes, I know the stores have been pushing Christmas upon us since October, but now Christmas is here for real.
What is Christmas? Is it a time for giving gifts that will soon be forgotten? a time for gathering around the table with family you haven’t seen all year? a reprieve from schoolwork? a holiday from your job? a painful memory of a loved one who is no longer with you? Is it just another day? For some, it may be one or more of these things, but Christmas is much more than that for those of us who know the Savior.
The Lord whom we praise in Psalm 150 is the reason why we celebrate Christmas. The greatest gift you can give this Christmas is the gift of yourself to the Lord. The greatest gift that was ever given was the gift of our Lord for us.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast.
2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift.

This is my church and my choir. And yes, I am up there somewhere. 🙂 My daughter is in the choir now too, and my oldest son sings in the college choir when his schedule allows. We love getting to participate in the ministry opportunities at this church. I trust you also have a Bible-believing church that you call home. If you live in the Pensacola area, or if you ever happen to visit, I invite you to worship with us at Campus Church.
P.S. The link on the photo credit will take you to a video of one of our services. Do take time to watch it. You will be blessed, I promise.
