The guilt of all
was paid in full
by the only sinless One
upon a lonely cross
In five minutes’ time I could talk about how I am loved by my husband, my children, my parents, my family, my friends, and how I love them in return. But the greatest love of all is the source of all love—God. God is love. It is because He loves us that we are capable of loving Him and others.
God the Father loved me enough to send His Son to die in my place. God the Son loved me enough to take my place and bear my sins before the Father. God the Holy Spirit loved me enough to dwell inside of me and guide me into all truth.
The great Three in One loves me to the core. He loves all of us to the core.
And He does not love us because we are worthy, beautiful, or good, for we are none of those things. God loves us because He created us, and because He is love. It is His nature to love. He hates sin, but He loves the sinner. Sing along with me, “Oh, how marvelous! Oh, how wonderful is my Savior’s love for me!”
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
2 Corinthians 5:21 For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
