A Year Has Come and Gone

I love to sit outside to write while watching the birds, flowers, butterflies, and squirrels.

A year has come and gone,
Twelve months have passed since I
Began to share my thoughts,
My photographs and such.
How many things I’ve shared—
How many things I’ve learned,
But none of this compares
To the friendships I have found
In this, my writer’s world.

My first WordPress post went live one year ago today, and what an adventure it has proven to be! I have so enjoyed getting to know my fellow bloggers, reading, writing, and interacting with you all. The jubilation I feel at being here is somewhat akin to how I felt when I began to study the Spanish language. As I studied and became more fluent with the language, a whole new world opened up to me that I never knew before. My horizons were broadened, and there was no turning back.

Coming to WordPress expanded my horizons once again. I was blessed with the opportunity to go to WordCamp Birmingham and meet many bloggers personally as together we learned how to improve our blogging experience. I’ve met many more people vicariously, through your writing and photographs, from all over the world. And my own words have traveled to countries that may never get stamped into my passport. It truly is amazing.

As the second year unfolds, I plan to stay right here, reading, writing, and sharing my photos with you. New friends will join the fold, and new things will be learned. I look forward to learning and growing with you. Lord willing, I also plan to go back to WordCamp Birmingham.

Many thanks to my 416 amazing followers for allowing me to share a bit of my life with you! May God richly bless you all.
