30 Paintings in 30 Days: Day 5

Day 5 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge: “Birthday Rose” Strathmore creative card 5×7

With a handful of birthdays coming up on my calendar, I decided to try making a personalized card. The flower looks like a hybrid between a rose and a tulip, and let’s just say I’ll be sticking to paint pens for hand lettering.

It’s only Day 5 of the challenge, and I am seriously ready to throw in the towel on watercolor. The only reason I’m even sharing this is because it’s a challenge, not a competition. Lol… And yes, it is challenging. In fact, it’s one of the hardest things I’ve done in a long time. But even if I don’t learn how to paint with watercolors, perhaps I’ll come away with a dose of humility. 🙂

If you are interested in joining the challenge, you can sign up at Leslie Saeta’s 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge and then post and/or view the other entries at the linkup.
