The ONLY way to heaven (John 14:6)

Everyone who is born into this world is born with a sin nature. God is holy and cannot have sin in His presence. But there was one Man who was born perfect and lived a sinless life. That was Jesus Christ. He had an earthly mother, but no earthly father; therefore, He did not inherit our sin nature, which is passed down through the father. He is fully God and yet fully man. Christ humbled Himself to become one of us so that He could pay the penalty for our sin once and for all. That payment was the awful death of crucifixion after being beaten so severely that He could not be recognized as a man. He suffered all that shame and pain for you and me!

But that’s not the end of the story. Jesus did one more thing else no one else could do: He rose from the dead! If you visit the grave of any religious leader, who will find it occupied. But the tomb that held the body of Jesus is empty! Why? Because death had no power over Him. He gave His life, and then He took it back again so that He could give us everlasting life as well.

If there were any other way to have our sins forgiven, surely the Father would have chosen another way, for it is inconceivable that a loving God could have allowed His Son to endure such suffering needlessly.

Have you placed your faith in the redeeming work of Jesus Christ? If not, what are you waiting for? He is the only way to heaven.
