The fountain Satan made never quenched anyone’s thirst; God’s fountain never left anyone unsatisfied.
Teach me to wait on You to hear and answer all my prayer.
God is preparing the answer to your request and preparing your heart to receive it. Perhaps He is simply waiting for you to be silent.
At first you hear the scraping of chairs, the shuffling of music, and the discordant sounds of everyone warming up their instruments. Then the conductor rises to the podium, taps his baton on his stand, and all the noise of preparation ceases, leaving a quiet calm in the room, a preparedness, an expectation....
You may be sure that He does.
Wisdom is available to all, but few are quiet enough to hear it.
Can a Type-A person learn to wait on God?
What do you suppose was on her mind while she waited? Perhaps she was thinking of Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”
