30 Paintings in 30 Days: Day 16

30in30 Day 16 (1)

Day 16 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days: “So Loved” Watercolor & Ink on Canson, 140 lb, 6×6

Today I tried a new font, using the 0.3 Micron for the fine lines, and filling in the thicker lines with the 0.8 pen. It’s a fairly common font these days, and I like it. It wasn’t hard, but it took me a long time since I’m inexperienced and moved rather slowly to avoid making mistakes. I’ve seen demonstration videos in which the artists moved very quickly and surely through the pen strokes. Perhaps someday I’ll be sure of myself too.

All the painting was done with a #8 round brush using pink, yellow, and two shades of green. I know the other two corners need some sort of embellishment, but it’s getting late and I have an early day tomorrow, so that will have to wait for another time. I’ll also have to forego writing a poem for this painting because my weary brain isn’t up to it. But I will leave you with a verse from the Bible….

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
