My Garden

back-yard-office

My garden’s a place where
I take in the fresh air,
Follow the butterfly
With silent, watchful eye,
Note with small levity
Each flower’s brevity,
Listen to birds singing,
Watch them in sky winging
Playfully tree to tree—
God cares for them and me.

Matthew 10:29,31 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Okay, so it’s just my back yard. It’s not much of a garden yet, but it will be; it simply needs time. It already looks better now than it did when this photo was taken, and to be honest, it has been interesting to see how much has changed and what has remained the same in the twelve months we have lived here. I do love getting to sit outside to write and do home school lessons with my daughter. True, it’s distracting. Just today, I took fresh photos of butterflies, a squirrel, and a box turtle who has made our back yard his home. In fact, Geoff (that’s my daughter’s name for the box turtle) came all the way to the patio to say hello this morning. Then again, sitting outside is so very convenient when we need to drip dry after getting out of the swimming pool! 😉
