Dear Father,
I have tasted of the world’s wine,
And yet I thirst;
I have gorged myself on earth’s pleasures,
And yet I hunger.
I thirst for You, my God.
I hunger for the Bread of Life.
Early every morning will I come to You
To receive strength for the day that lies ahead.
Please quench this longing in my soul,
And satisfy me continually
Until I lose my taste for all else,
Desiring You, and You alone.
Amen
O God, Thou art my God; early will I seek Thee: my soul thirsteth for Thee, my flesh longeth for Thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is. ~ Psalm 63:1

It is true about the emptiness of the world, isn’t it? So well said! Something that needs to be heard!

I appreciate your remarks. Yes, only Jesus can truly satisfy. With everything else, the thirst keeps coming back.
